License the data. Pay for the work, not the facts.
The records are public. What you license is the work: 1,278 official sources collected, standardized, de-duplicated and kept in one place, with every record credited and dated.
Three routes, three licences: the screening API for real-time checks, the screening licence for the full files in your own systems, and the reseller / OEM licence to build the data into your product.
Search, read records and test the bulk files free before you talk to us. Non-commercial use: . A licence covers production use.
Why Crown Intelligence
Four things a licence buys that a folder of downloaded lists does not.
Every source named and dated
Each register is published by name, with its publisher, refresh cadence and last run. Every record says where it came from and when it was last confirmed.
Browse the sources →Refreshed on the publisher's schedule
Each source is collected as often as its publisher updates it, daily, weekly or monthly, and the "as of" date is shown rather than implied.
See freshness →Canada and the United States in one record
Canada's SEMA schedules, Magnitsky list and PSPC Integrity Regime sit beside OFAC, SAM.gov and HHS OIG, matched so one person or company is one result.
Canadian coverage →Documented API and files
The same data through a matching API, full-text search and bulk files with a published field reference, so integration does not start with guesswork.
API reference →Who licenses the data
Compliance teams, fintechs, law firms, procurement offices and newsrooms use the same records for different jobs. The use cases page describes each workflow.
What do you need us for?
Three licences, one compilation. Pick the route that matches how your screening runs.
Screening API
We host the matching and search service; you call it from your onboarding or payment flow.
- Matching and search endpoints
- Sanctions, PEP, debarment and crime collections
- Metered pricing Proposed
Screening licence
The data inside your own systems, for screening your own customers, staff, suppliers and counterparties.
- Bulk files with delta updates
- Choose the collections you need
- Internal use only
- Annual term, flat rate Proposed
Reseller / OEM licence
Build the data, or screening results from it, into a product you offer to your own customers.
- Embedded redistribution
- Publisher limits stated per register
- One-year renewable term
Only some registers are cleared by their publishers for commercial redistribution. The store lists them, and licence positions explains how the line is drawn.

Check the fit
Work through the questions to prepare: the sources you need, your volume and where screening will run.
Talk to sales
Contact sales with your use and volume. We send the current order form and master licence agreement.
Test before you sign
Use the free search, screening page and downloads to check coverage and match quality against your own records.
Sign the order form
The order form fixes scope, permitted users, term and fees. Those signed documents, not this page, are the binding agreement.
Licence terms in summary
A plain-language summary of the Screening Licence and the Reseller / OEM Licence. It does not replace the executed order form and master licence agreement, which govern where the two conflict.
Draft. This summary and every price in it are drafts pending review by counsel and commercial sign-off. Prices marked proposed are not yet approved.
1. Purpose of this summary
This page summarizes, in plain legal language, the paid licences Crown Intelligence offers for commercial use of its compilation of public records: the Screening Licence and the Reseller/OEM Licence. It is intended to let a prospective licensee understand the shape of the offering before entering into a full agreement. It does not replace, and is not a substitute for, that agreement. The binding terms are the executed order form and the master licence agreement it incorporates, executed per licensee and not published on this page.
2. Screening Licence
2.1 Scope
A non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the licensed data internally to screen the licensee's own customers, counterparties, employees, vendors, tenants or applicants ("Screening Use"), by search, batch upload, or the Crown screening API, within the licensee's own compliance, onboarding, or risk-management processes.
2.2 Permitted users
Employees, contractors and agents of the licensee acting on the licensee's behalf, for the licensee's own Screening Use. Affiliates and subsidiaries are not included by default; each must be added to the order form as a named licensed entity, or obtain its own separate licence.
2.3 Redistribution limits
The Screening Licence does not permit resale or sublicensing of the licensed data to a third party, provision of screening results to a third party as a standalone data product, or incorporation of the licensed data into a product the licensee offers to its own customers. A licensee that wishes to do any of the foregoing requires a Reseller/OEM Licence instead of, or in addition to, a Screening Licence.
2.4 Term and renewal
An initial term of one year from the order form's effective date, automatically renewing for successive one-year terms unless either party gives notice of non-renewal.
2.5 Fees — proposed
Proposed pricing, based on published market rates, for commercial sign-off — not yet approved. Two structures:
- Metered API access: ; monthly plans from .
- In-house file delivery: for unlimited internal screening on your own network, with registry access available as an add-on plan.
2.6 Service levels — proposed
Proposed service levels, based on published market commitments, for operational sign-off before publication:
- Uptime: a target of 99.9% monthly uptime for the site and screening API.
- Refresh cadence: each source refreshed on its own schedule, matched to its publisher, with an "as of" date on every record.
- Support response: initial response to a support request within one business day.
2.7 Attribution
Attribution obligations continue to apply to any licensed data reproduced outside the licensee's internal systems — for example, in an audit file shown to a regulator or counterparty. See Data licence.
3. Reseller / OEM Licence
3.1 Scope
A non-exclusive, non-transferable licence permitting the licensee to incorporate the licensed data, or screening results derived from it, into the licensee's own product or service offered to the licensee's own end customers ("Embedded Use"), including bulk redistribution of defined data sets to those end customers.
3.2 Permitted users
The licensee and, through the licensee's product, its end customers, subject to the licensee ensuring its end customers are bound by terms at least as protective of Crown and of source publishers as Crown's own terms of use and data licence, in particular the attribution and no-sole-basis-for-adverse-decision provisions.
3.3 Redistribution limits
The licensee may redistribute licensed data only as embedded within its own product or service, and only to the extent, and in the format, agreed in the order form. The licensee may not grant its end customers a stand-alone right to extract, bulk-export or further redistribute the licensed data outside the licensee's product, unless expressly agreed.
3.4 Source publisher restrictions
As with all licensed data, source publisher restrictions prevail; a Reseller/OEM Licence cannot grant broader redistribution rights than the underlying source publisher permits.
3.5 Term, fees and service levels — proposed
Proposed, based on published market rates, for commercial sign-off. The same one-year renewable term as section 2.4, with fees set at a premium to the Screening Licence to reflect redistribution scope — , or a percentage-of-end-customer-revenue arrangement, negotiated per licensee. The service levels in section 2.6 apply equally to the Reseller/OEM Licence.
4. Cross-cutting terms
4.1 No ownership transfer
Fees paid under either licence are consideration for delivery, compilation, refresh, hosting, matching and support — not for ownership of, or an exclusive right in, the underlying public records.
4.2 Verification obligation
Neither licence relieves the licensee of the obligation to independently verify a match against the source publisher's current record before using it as a basis for an adverse decision about a named person or entity.
4.3 Audit and compliance
Crown reserves the right, on no less than 30 days' written notice and no more than once per 12-month period, to audit the licensee's records solely to confirm compliance with the redistribution limits and permitted-user scope of the applicable licence.
4.4 Termination
Either licence may be terminated for uncured material breach, including breach of the redistribution limits above, or breach of attribution obligations.
4.5 Governing law
Both licences are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, including for US-domiciled licensees.
5. How to proceed
A prospective licensee should contact [email protected] to receive the current order form and master licence agreement. Those signed documents — not this summary — are the binding agreement between the parties. This summary is provided for informational purposes only and creates no binding obligation on Crown or the prospective licensee.
