Data delivery service

Licensed customers may need more from bulk delivery than a public download: dependable addresses, support when a file is late, and a record of what was delivered. This page sets out what we deliver today and what is still to be decided.

The bulk files are free to download, with no account. Non-commercial use is covered by our data licence; commercial use needs a licence. To check names one at a time instead, use the screening API.

What exists today

  • The bulk files of every collection are public and free to download, with no account or token, at /downloads/collections/<collection>/<file> (see Keeping data fresh).
  • Every build has an index with checksums, so a delivery can be verified (see Checking a download).
  • Changes between builds are published as delta files.
  • Commercial use of the files needs a licence, whichever way they are delivered.

A licensed delivery service

We have not yet set up a separate, authenticated delivery service for licensed customers.

To be provided: whether we will run a licensed delivery service, and if so its commitments: availability, support response, notice of changes, and any usage reporting. No service level is promised until these are set.
To be provided: the delivery host name, how customers obtain an access token (onboarding or a customer portal), and the header or parameter that carries it.
To be provided: whether delivery will also cover registry reference data (company registers, beneficial ownership, securities) and dated historical builds.

Running screening in your own environment

If you want to run screening on your own infrastructure rather than load files into your own matcher, see On-premise deployment.

Technical considerations

For automated downloads today:

  • Follow HTTP redirects, so a future move of the files to a different host does not break your job.
  • Read file addresses from index.json (files[].path) rather than hard-coding them.
  • Verify each file's SHA-256 before replacing your copy.
