What the list is

UN Member States are obliged to implement these measures in their own law. That is why the same names appear on national lists such as the Canadian, Australian, UK and EU lists, usually labelled with the UN regime.

What a listing means

The measures are typically an asset freeze, a travel ban and an arms embargo. The obligation to apply them falls on Member States, so in practice a business applies them through its own country's implementing law and list.

Largest programmes on the list

Each designation is tagged with the programme or regime it falls under. These are the largest by the number of records Crown Intelligence holds.
